FJ Horgan Water Treatment Plant

Reimar was the contractor responsible for forming, placing and finishing 25,000 CM reinforced concrete for water retaining strucutres and standby generating building.  (Concrete supplied by Others)

Construction related to the expansion of the F.J. Horgan Water Treatment Plant began on March 23, 2009 and is planned to be completed by November 2011.

The plant expansion is necessary to continue to provide a safe and adequate supply of drinking water to a growing population in the City of Toronto and Region of York. Once the expansion is completed, the plant’s production capacity will increase from 570 million litres to 800 million litres of drinking water per day. In preparation for the plant expansion, the City completed a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment study in July 2005 and initiated detailed design in the spring of 2006.
